I was sorting through some of my stored-away jewelry the other day and found a ring box. Inside was a ring that Nana gave me a few years ago (I think it's been that long!?). It was Nanny Knisely's engagement ring, my great grandmother. I was amazed at how similar it is to my ring... pretty cool...
Stone is a little different but hey, no complaints here!

Golden & Snuggles
We did some St. Paddy's day drinking this past weekend. People watching was the best part of that day.
Ben & I people watching. Collin went to high school with Ben! PA guy! |
Drunk panda is all I have to say. If you come to the bar dressed as a panda, chances are, you're planning to get f*^k#% up...and that he did. Quite entertaining for the rest of the holiday drinkers!! Unfortunately, I was laughing too hard while he got thrown out of the bar (peaking back with one eye open) to take pictures.
The next day we went to Golden to hike with Morg. The trails were still completely covered with snow pack but Morg loved it. We let him off the leash and he would run ahead, stop, and look back until we got closer.
Some mornings when we don't work we bring Morg into bed with us for a little snuggling. The other morning we were....really tired....ok we were hungover from St. Patricks day drinking...and we brought Morg into bed around 7am. He ended up sleeping with us until about 10. He's not a morning dog...
Suk is slowly starting to give Morgan a little more of a chance. She realizes that he has not hurt her yet and although he's chased her a few times, she kinda likes it and knows we protect her in the end. Morgan is also realizing his boundaries with the kittay. He has been slapped with sharp claws enough to know that he can't come on as strong as he would like.
I had something else typed here but it didn't save properly and I can't remember for the life of me what it was...
Oh well...snow day here today. We're going to make meatballs from scratch, yum!

Some Randoms
My valentines flowers...
Morgan coming home from a vet appointment. I had him in the trunk with his big, soft bed and a bunch of toys to keep him content.
He wasn't having it and decided he'd rather sit in the back seat like a real kid...he brought some toys along with him too...
And showing his goods off to the world.
This is how Collin found Morgan when he got home from work. He didn't even try to get out, Collin had to take the blanket off of him for him to come out, hah!
Playing on the deck...
Giving him a 2 second chance...
Yummy filet and arugula salad dinner we made the other night...
Sunday funday in Boulder at Walnut Brewery...
Day off with Morgan, soaking up the sun.
Sunbathing...
Morgie at Denver Beer Company, huge hit!

Telluride Weekend
I wonder how many people have given up on this blog?......I would!!
Hi Uncle Rick!! :)
But here I go....weeks and weeks old...I shall post our Telluride trip.
Quite a few weekends ago (pre-ring a ling a ling) we headed dooooooown south to beautiful Telluride Colorado. Collin found a community health dentist job available, applied, and got an interview...perfect excuse to journey to Telluride, one of my favorite CO towns.
Being a six hour drive and since we left after I'd worked for 12 hours + commute time, we decided to drive a few hours and then get a hotel and snooze. We did just that and Morgan (who was along for the adventure) was happy for a break from the truck.
No, he didn't/doesn't sleep in bed with us. He has a cute red canvas travel crate that he loves. The next morning we got on our way pretty early and finished the drive into Telluride.
We checked into our hotel (which ended up being a big thumbs down) and Collin went to his interview. Morgan was going crazy so we went on a long walk while we waited for Collin to return. We brought our ski stuff but ended up deciding against it...we really find it hard to pay over $100 each!! Walking around Telluride was fun enough and Morgan got some exercise too.
We also decided on a new hotel for that night! Thankfully!! We stayed at the Mountain Lodge...hallelujah!
After settling in (aka getting Morgan fed, peed/pooped, and relaxed in his crate) we took the gondola to get a drink in Mountain Village.
We went to an awesome place called Tomboy Tavern. One look at their bloody mary and I was sold x100!
Yes...that IS shrimp, olives, lemon, celery, peperoncinis, and BACON. No brainer really.
We ate dinner at the Mountain Lodge restaurant. They had average live music but the food was pretty yummy. Only picture I took...
Morgie on the way home...
Great trip. Love Telluride. But not moving there.
Now off to a hike with Morg and Collin and then turning green and Irish!

Ring a ling a ling
I've been MIA according to this blog but as many (or all) of you know I've been busy this last month...particularly in the last 5 days.
I got engaged!!!!
Yes, for real! I've played this joke on my mom at least once...but this is no joke.
Collin had some Veuve waiting for us after his proposal :)
We've been looking at rings for the past few months and I was being very picky on the style of the setting. I knew I wanted a 1920/1930's setting but I wasn't all that picky about the actual diamond. Collin would e-mail me pictures of rings he found asking, "Do you like this one?" "How about this one?" Most of them were beautiful, just not exactly what I wanted. There were a few that I fell in love with and then within a week or so they were sold according to their websites. And I would get sad for a minute and start looking all over again.
Collin sent me a picture of this ring one day and I responded by saying: OH MY GOD I'm in love with it, I couldn't dream up a more beautiful ring for myself.
I kept the website window open and would peek at it every once in a while throughout the day. The next day I accidentally closed all of my internet windows and when I opened the site back up again it said, "This ring is no longer available."
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I was seriously sad this time and called Collin to tell him. He said, 'Oh you'll find another one that you love just as much." And I assured him I wouldn't and decided to stop looking at rings.
Fast forward to Wednesday February 20th. Collin worked all day and I had off and stayed home with Morgie and Suk. A new Mexican restaurant opened that week down the street from us and we planned to try it out. It started snowing that afternoon and the ground was covered and the snow was still coming down as we walked to dinner.
After a deeeelicious dinner and dessert we headed back home in the snow. When we got to our door Collin put my box of leftovers on the porch post. I thought he was trying to find his keys until I remembered that I had them in my pocket. I pulled them out, went to unlock the door, and turned my head to tell him not to forget my food! (soo typical me...food first!)
Collin was down on one knee and before he could say anything I blurted out, "Are you serious!?!?! Is this for real?!?! Are you serious!??!?"
He said, "Well, yes or no?"
me: "You didn't ask me anything yet."
"Oh...?.... Emily, will you marry me?"
"yes! of course!"
In typical fashion, I ruined any romantic thing he was planning to say. But this IS the exact ring I fell in love with at first sight. Collin bought it right out from under my nose! And ironically, it is from a vintage/antique jeweler in Wynnewood Pennsylvania with a stand at Stout's too!
Initially, Collin told me that he would plan some kind of trip to propose to me. When he actually got the ring he knew that anything that he did out of the ordinary would make me suspicious so he proposed on an ordinary night, in an ordinary setting but it was perfect and I'm so happy!!
Let the planning begin!! Definitely looking at a 2014 wedding. We don't like to rush anything as you know! Haha!
I'll have to go backwards with my next post because we went to Telluride between now and my last post and I've just been too lazy to write it up!
But this was more important today! :)

Morg's First Hike
Morgan is getting so big so fast!!
So big in fact that we had to switch out his little crate for his new big crate. And by big I mean friggin' gigantic. It was the largest crate they had but with a projected weight of 90 pounds and after seeing his parents we're gonna need it. Morgan was scared of it at first so I had to help him out.
And that is with the divider in the crate too! We moved it so it was even smaller after I got out. He likes it now!
Today Collin, Ben, Adam (two of our friends), and I went to Cheesman Canyon. They went to fish and I went to hike with Morgie since it was such a beautiful day. He had to get some lunch in before we started...
We all ended up hiking because the fishing just wasn't great...as in they couldn't catch anything! Morgan did so well for his first hike! He was a happy little camper!
While the guys tried to fish Morgan bounced around like a crazy man finding sticks and everything else he could get his mouth on.

Little Morg was great! I love having a walking/running/hiking partner (besides Collin!)...he's so much fun!
Here's a quick video of the fur babes doing their thing...pretty boring really but just a few clips I took on my phone...

And then on the walk home I spotted this foot print. I THINK it may be a mountain lion but we're not too sure...could be a huge dog.
